Recommitting to Yourself: Inside & Out

I recently had three weeks off of work, and while it’s always nice to get a break, with my family and friends all busy, I wondered what I’d do with the time. I decided that it would be a great time to take care of some  things I’d been procrastinating … to take care of me. So, I got a physical, a mammogram and a colonoscopy, and I worked out almost every day. I also used the time to try a few new things …

Trust me, I understand how hard it is to pull ourselves away from the daily grind and find the time take care of ourselves. But really, if we don’t take care of us … who will? So this week’s video blog is a little recap of my recommitment to myself – my health, my fitness and a little beauty too – in hopes that it inspires you to find some time for yourself!

Parenting & Grandparenting: A Conversation with Stephen Nichols

Stephen Nichols and I have known each other for more than 30 years, and I’ve always known that he’s an amazing father; but watching him become an amazing grandpa has been so much fun. Before our Summer break, I asked him to sit down with me to discuss parenting and grandparenting. Hope you enjoy our chat!

Having Vision – an Interview with Christopher Sean

I recently had the pleasure of working with Christopher Sean, who has just joined the cast of THE BAY. I know Christopher from Days of Our Lives, but getting to spend an entire weekend on set with him, I was reminded of what an inspiration he is. As he talked about his goals and his belief in the law of attraction, I was struck by his whole approach to life. I kept thinking I’ve got to remember this – both for myself and for my kids! But then I thought, what better way to remember it than to feature it here! Plus, his message is so great that I just had to share with all of you.

Sitting Down with Mary Beth (again)

A few weeks ago, a sweet reader named Nikki sent in some great questions. With all the craziness, I hadn’t had time to answer them, but this week we sat down for another video blog. Her questions covered everything from Days of Our Lives and fitness to regrets and goals. In fact, there were so many that we had to split it up (so come back next week for Part 2!).

A Whirlwind Weekend and the Greatest Gift

As I laid down in my bed Sunday night, tired from a whirlwind week, a busy month and a tremendous year, my mind raced with excitement and memories. The days leading up to this weekend were long, but really, for me it’s been a 30-year road. A happy, fulfilling road that I never planned or expected, but one for which I am eternally grateful.

Later this month I’ll celebrate 30 years on Days of Our Lives. I remember the audition well, and remember thinking at the time that the three-year contract they were offering seemed like a lifetime. Now, looking back on the years since then, I think this 30-year gift of daytime is the best career I could have asked for.

Meeting Friends at the Barre

This past weekend, I joined a few of my Days of Our Lives co-stars as we celebrated the grand opening of Cardio Barre Las Vegas, which was recently opened by Eric Martsolf and his wife, Lisa (you may recall a previous blog about their business). In addition to getting our butts kicked by Lisa in the workout, we also had a great time supporting our friends in their business venture and meeting some fabulous fans who came out to join in on the fun. And all of it helped raise funds for a great cause – Arrow Heart Adventure Camps
