Cranberry Orange Bread
Ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 eggs (beaten)
- 1 1/2 cup orange juice
- 2 tsp grated orange peel
- 1 cup nuts
- 2 cup chopped cranberries
Instructions
- Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl.
- Cut in shortening.
- Combine eggs, orange juice and peel
- Add to dry ingredients and mix just until moist.
- Fold in nuts and berries.
- Turn into pans. (greased & floured)
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour (or until toothpick comes out clean)
- Cool on wire rack before removing from pans.
- Wrap and store overnight to develop flavor.
