Whenever the “holiday season” starts to get rolling, I dig out my tried and true, yummy bread recipes. Most of these treasures came from my sister when I was in my early 20s, and I have made them every year since.
Way back when (in the beginning of taking my DIY classes), I learned how to make a fabric lined baskets (watch out for that crazy, hot glue gun) – they were elaborate creations with a pillow type bottom and a gathered ruffle at the top.
I wish I had a picture of them, because they were pretty fancy. When I was married with my little kids I would make all my neighbors these baskets filled with small loafs of all the different favored breads. It was a huge hit and so fun with the kids helping out.
Now I find different ways to present my treats, and as you can see I often give my apple pie as a present too. I wrap everything in cellophane (which I love) and pretty bows … I even use regular packing tags as my labels. Maybe I’m crazy, but people always seem to love them! So you don’t need to spend a lot to give the gift of homemade, heartfelt goodies.
Oh, and I admit, I have made these breads, frozen them and thawed them on Christmas eve for Christmas morning present opening … YUM!

The blueberry bread looks amazing, I kind of need some right now. One thing, I think I’m blind, but … what temp do you bake that for? 350? 375? I could wing it with those standard kind of temps, but you said 80 to 90 minutes, so I’m thinking it might be a lower temp. Did I miss it?
Bake at 350 until toothpick comes out clean. (80-90 minutes)
Hi Mary Beth, Its so refreshing to read your blog..I will definitely try some of your breads but which one..mmm perhaps all of them 🙂 xx
